Nina Pastore, the Fanfare’s Head Editor of Photography, has been a Berkeley student since 2007. When away from her camera, Nina can be found practicing with the Varsity Rowing Team or running lines in the Lykes Center with other members of the Advanced Theatre Ensemble. Nina enjoys visiting art museums and walking her dog on Bayshore Boulevard.

HEADMASTER SEIVOLD KEEPS CUP: Beginning at 8:00 AM and ending at 2:30 PM, Saturday’s Headmasters’ Challenge was a game changer. This victory marks the 5th consecutive win (and longest winning streak in Headmasters’ history) for Berkeley. The Bucs have previously won the Headmasters’ Challenge in years: 2004, 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2015, 2016. The first ever tie was called in 2014.

BUCS THRIVE WITH CIAO: Every athlete hopes to find a coach who will bring out the best in them; a friend who shows passion for the sport while caring for the players like family. Coach Dominick Ciao, who just secured his 200th win, is just one of these coaches at Berkeley who embodies the true coaching spirit.

SENIORS BRING SPIRIT: A rambunctious crowd of Berkeley’s dedicated fans fill the student section, enthusiastically cheering on their peers during Friday night’s domination of Lakeland Christian School. Though the typical “Jawbone BIG Jambox” speaker was not present, the crowds kept the energy alive with frequent chants and cheers and many fluorescent glow sticks.
