There is no doubt junior Jake Franz, founder and president of the Entrepreneur club—Varsity basketball player, and future Student Forum President—is an extremely busy student. Luckily, he took some time out of his busy schedule to tell us more about himself.

Q: Do you dream of playing basketball at the professional level?

A: I do plan on dominating the pick-up basketball scene at whatever college I attend.

Q: Which TV shows do you recommend?

A: Black Mirror, which is an anthology series that delves into interesting dilemmas that our culture currently faces and a lot of the episodes are set in the near future, so there is a sort of dystopian vibe. Also True Detective.

Q: If you were to have tea with any historical figure, who would it be?

A: I would have tea with Benjamin Franklin. We would enjoy some green tea and discuss the world’s current affairs. Ben would hit me with some of his renowned wisdom. I would arrive at the tea as a boy and leave as a man.

Q: Is history a field you would like to pursue?

A: I think I would like to major in business. The process of starting a company I think is really interesting, which is why I take AP Economics. I plan to take AP Computer science next year; I think coding will be a very useful tool in the near future.

Q: What Internet app would you recommend?

A: My favorite Internet app would have to be Evernote. Evernote is a OneNote-like software that enables you to take notes from your phone, computer tablet, etc. Your notes are stored on the cloud so you can access them from any computer with an internet connection. I take all of my notes with Evernote and would definitely recommend it to others.

Q: Is there any advice you would like to give to other people interested in starting their own business or becoming an entrepreneur?

A: Looking at a lot of successful entrepreneurs, they are all fearless—they don’t let others’ opinions stop them from accomplishing what they set their mind to. A lot of people have great ideas, but the difference between them and the successful entrepreneur is that the entrepreneur is crazy enough to execute that idea in spite of all of those saying that it can’t be done or it’s a bad idea.
