Aryana Makati, Co-Editor in Chief
Aryana has attended Berkeley since Pre-K and is currently a senior. She has been involved in journalism since middle school and has won several national and international writing awards. In addition to journalism, Aryana enjoys playing basketball and creating digital art.
Samantha Zophin, Co-Editor in Chief
Samantha Zophin is a junior at Berkeley Prep and the Co-Editor in Chief of the Fanfare this year. In school, she is on the Fanfare, BBN, and works as a manager for the football team. Sam aspires to work in the field of football when she is older and is looking forward to this year with the Fanfare!
Lily Shirmohammad, Staff Writer
Lily Shirmohammad is a 9th grader new to Berkeley Preparatory School this year. This freshman looks forward to contributing to the photographic, social, and writing aspects of Fanfare. She is a member of the JV White school volleyball team and will begin her club volleyball season in October. Lily spends the rest of her free time having fun with her friends and family!
Taylor Rauber, Section Editor
Taylor Rauber is a current junior, who is currently a Fanfare section. Editor this year. She has been attending Berkeley since 7th grade and plans to stay through high school. She discovered her passion for writing at a young age and always dreamed of being an author as a child. Within Berkeley, you can find her participating in Science tutors, red cross club, community service club, Spanish Club, Berkeley Academy, Writing Center Tutors, and more. In her free time outside of school, she enjoys singing, listening to music, and spending time with her friends.
Tarun Chapalamadugu, Web Manager
Tarun is a sophmore and is the web manager this year. In school, he is in the Berkeley Jazz Ensemble, History Bowl, and Fanfare. He is excited to learn all of the ins and outs of web design, as well as whatever is in store for him this year!
Yasmin Virani, Staff Writer
Yasmin Virani is excited to continue in Fanfare as a staff writer for the second year. Yasmin is a sophomore this year who was new to Berkeley and Florida, from just moving from San Francisco, California last year. Outside of school, you can find her at Crew practice, reading a good book, rehearsing in the fall play, or finding a way to get involved in the community.
Gaby Hernandez, Staff Writer
As a Sophomore, Gaby is a photographer for Fanfare. She’s also involved in the following clubs: Latin, yearbook, cooking, and a few others. Drawing and running are other hobbies of hers.
Zoya Jooma, Section Editor
Zoya Jooma is a section editor at Fanfare this year. She has been at Berkeley since sixth grade, and she is now a sophomore. Along with Fanfare, she is in Spanish Club and Red Cross Club, and rows for the Berkeley crew team. Zoya loves to travel and take care of her four chickens. In her free time, she enjoys reading and hanging out with her friends.
