Winter Wonderland Eat ‘n Speak Dazzles All
The Writing Center’s Eat βn Speak celebrates the coming of winter.

Although it’s warm in Florida during winter, the Writing Center brought all of winter’s wonder to its latest Eat ‘n Speak, appropriately themed “Winter Wonderland.” Students read poetry, sang and shared their awesome talents with their classmates.

TEACHING IS JUST ONE TALENT: English teacher Tom Brandt reads his remarkably written poetry, entertaining the crowd as one of the two teacher performance.

THAT WAS AN ORIGINAL?! Emcee Katie Crino β18, moves the audience with an amazing original song with some mic help by her fellow emcee Addison Aloian β18.

THE DISCOVERY OF UNIQUE TALENTS: Expert yo-yoer, Jackson Meyer β18, demonstrates his talent with phenomenal yo-yo tricks that left everyone in awe.

LAST, BUT NOT LEAST: Sarah Roth β17, read some of her professional-level poetry for a performance that was last, but certainly not least.

MELLO DIVAS ROCK THE HOUSE: Berkeleyβs Mello Divas sang beautifully at the Eat ‘n Speak last Friday. They decided to highlight the talent of newcomer Victoria Grills β20. The Mello Divas pictured are from left Anjali Shah β17, Elizabeth Corn β17, Natalie Belluccia β18, Madeline Grills β17, Alex Gilden β18, Shaila Ghanekar β17, Victoria Grills β20, Kaylah Lue β18, Addison Aloian β18, Kassidy Gavagan β19, Joy Mompi β19 and Mikae Provine β19.

MORE THAN JUST HISTORY: History teacher Muhammad Ramadan, who is new to Berkeley this year, proves he has talent for poetry. He entertains the other teachers and students with poems about his life, like Chocolate Thunder, a poem about when he coached basketball.

A TON OF STUDENT SUPPORT: Students get their lunches and rush to the library to support their fellow classmates by leaving no chair empty.
