Fanfare Book Pick: “A Game of Thrones”
Book Review
A Game of Thrones is a book that deals in fantasy, political intrigue, action, and even a little romance. At first, it showed very little promise, due to a large, confusing cast of characters coupled with an almost plot. Until I was almost a quarter of the way into the book, I seriously doubted my ability to finish reading. But, once events were underway, the plot accelerated quickly, and, soon enough, I wasn’t able to put down the book. Martin is a masterful storyteller who is able to deftly weave a web of plots and subplots where every event triggers another in ways that drastically alter the fate of the characters within the realm of his book. He keeps readers on the edge of their seats using an arsenal of deceit, betrayal, violence, and passion to fuel the story. A Game of Thrones appeals to readers of all interests, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anybody.
