Students Enjoy Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson Concert

The Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson concert was unforgettable.

As my friends and I set out our red blanket on the green grass of the Amphitheatre, my heart jumped with excitement. This was the second concert I had ever gone to, and I was a big fan of both Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson. As we sat in the typical Florida humidity, waiting for the acts to arrive on the cone-shaped stage, we watched a big mega screen that played interesting music videos and repetitive car commercials. The show was opened by an “up and coming” artist named PJ Morton, who sang soulful and emotional music. After about thirty minutes of waiting, the black stage began to vibrate with color and out stepped the talented, one and only Kelly Clarkson.

As Clarkson sang, her voice boomed across the theatre, and the crowd erupted with excitement. During her performance, she was able to make three costume changes and sing  many of her most famous songs, such as “Stronger,” “Since U Been Gone,” and “Breakaway.” My favorite song was “Because of You,” which she performed in an elegant, black lace dress. She ended her performance with a neon dress and a tie-dye background, which set the bar pretty high for the next act. After that we again sat and waited, with the air smelling of sweat and bug spray. And then came what we had been waiting for the whole night,– Maroon 5.

As the band burst onto the stage, the crowd went wild, screaming and yelling with excitement. All five members of Maroon 5 were wearing the same outfit, a white t-shirt with white pants, but you could tell that the lead was Adam Levine. He had the look of confidence and a self-determination which made him stand out from all the rest. Even though Adam was the lead singer, the band together rocked the stage with their pop rock music that included screeching, electric guitars, and booming drums. During their performance they sang many of their most popular songs, including “Payphone,” “One More Night,” and “This Love.” As the concert ended, I could not help but feel disappointed that it had ended, but was happy because I knew that I would always carry the memory of this concert.
