Our favorite autumnal movies to watch during the season!

Which movie will make you feel cozy for fall?

This spooky season, we attempted to watch various fall movies to deduce which one would be the ultimate best choice for your fall movie watchlist! Here, we will list a few of their favorites, and hopefully convince you to try some of them out.

HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN

This season, we definitely recommend reading the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban book along with watching the movie. It comes third in the sequence of the Harry Potter series and it follows the plot of Harry’s third year attending Hogwarts. He quickly learns that it will not be any normal year for him when he finds out that a man named Sirius Black plans to kill him. The movie’s setting also takes place in the fall, making it a fun to watch the movie to settle into the season. According to Luke Ewanowski ’26, “This film is phenomenal! It is so perfect for fall. I love watching it every year!”

LITTLE WOMEN

This film is truly amazing, and one of our favorites for the season and really any time of the year! It follows the stories of 4 sisters growing up in America in the 1800s, detailing the joys and struggles of their childhoods. Together, they grow up and learn how to love each other and accept their transition to adulthood! The film is spectacular, and is certainly great to watch for autumn due to its cool and relaxed color scheme and beautiful cinematography!

THE ADDAMS FAMILY

The Addams Family is simply a classic for the spooky season and a great film to watch with family! It is likely you have already seen this iconic movie, but it is always great to rewatch for the fall. It is a dark yet witty film about a very peculiar and spooky family consisting of parents Morticia and Gomez, as well as their very strange children, Wednesday and Pugsley. A man claiming to be Gommez’s brother Fester arrives at the home, but soon the family realizes that the man might not be who he says he is, and we see the Addams fighting to see that their family fortune is not squandered. We won’t spoil the ending, but this is a fantastic one to add to your watchlist!

HOCUS POCUS

Hocus Pocus is a classic Halloween movie for the whole family to watch! It tells the story of siblings who become cursed by the Sanderson Sisters: Winifred, Sarah, and Mary. For over 300 years, these witches were dead, and they attempted to take the kids’ lives to make themselves youthful once and for all. This movie gives a spooky vibe to get everyone excited for the October festivities!
