“Spread kindness. Through our actions and helping people, I believe that we can make a better world,” says Valeria Wolters, the new Spanish teacher. Wolters grew up in Venezuela and went to the same Catholic school for all twelve years. She studied architecture in Venezuela for five years. When she moved to the United States, she worked for Renker-Eich-Parks Architects in Saint Petersburg. She eventually changed career paths and followed her husband, who was a college professor. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Spanish from the University of South Florida.

Mrs. Wolters’ favorite part of teaching is sharing her culture. She loves getting to know her students and helping them improve their Spanish skills. She knows how hard it was to learn a second language and loves seeing her students’ progress.
In her free time, Mrs. Wolters likes to travel across South America, Central America and Europe. Her favorite place to visit is Mykonos in Greece. Her love of travel enriches her classroom, where she shares cultural insight from around the world.
