“Oh my goodness, I hope we get to the Café in time before all of the Mexican hot chocolate is gone!” exclaimed sophomore Kaitlin Murray.  

We here at Berkeley are more than blessed to have our very own espresso machine in the Berkeley Café with many different options. There is nothing like walking into school from the junior lot on a chilly Florida morning and being rejuvenated by a nice cup of hot chocolate or a jolt of caffeine.

Inspired by my own love of hot cocoa, I went around campus asking students’ opinions on their favorite drink from the espresso machine. I was hoping to get a list of the top four drinks in the machine; however, two major favorites stood out among the rest.  

The runner-up favorite was the French Vanilla Cappuccino. Our student body goes crazy for this cappuccino and this drink is definitely the top pick for our coffee lovers! 

However, the overall favorite was determined to be the Mexican Hot Chocolate. As sophomore Gordon Stetson noted, “I don’t like coffee, so the Mexican hot chocolate is definitely my favorite.” This reason could be the biggest factor in why the majority of peoples’ favorite drink was the hot chocolate. Who doesn’t love a good ol’ cup of hot cocoa before math class?
