Kevin Patel Speaks about the Impact of the Class Gift

Kevin Patel, class of 2021, gave the Student Gift Speech at Commencement, taking place on June 6th at Berkeley. He opened his speech describing the intimidation felt when he first stepped onto the Berkeley campus, and how he then became comforted when he saw how accepting and inviting the Berkeley community was. Patel then spoke about the class gift of twelve and a half thousand dollars to the Endowed Alumni Scholarship Fund, and how it will help incoming Berkeley students with financial aid. This fund will allow for there to be a strong foundation for the future of the Berkeley student population. Without raising this money, this future Berkeley community wouldn’t be possible.
