Homecoming Pep Rally 2018

Not your average rainy day

  • PLAN OF ATTACK: Elizabeth Sage ’19, Stephanie Corn ’19 and Melinda Lu ’19 discuss their strategy for Scavenger Hunt during Battle of the Bucs. For Scavenger Hunt, Student Forum sponsor Mike Van Treese asks for various items, such as a blue sock or a passport, and the first student representative to show him the item earns a point for his or her grade.

  • SO SYNCHRONIZED: Rose Haneke ’20, Mckenzie Williams ’21 and Brianna Serafin ’21 (front row) dance to Beyonce’s “7/11.”

  • LIKE MOTHER LIKE DAUGHTER: Following the pep rally, Academic Dean and English teacher Zoe Anderson took a moment to hug her daughter.

  • GET JIGGY WITH IT: (from back) Katie Fletcher ’21, Melissa Miller ’19, Stephanie Corn ’19 and Sofia Leche ’20 dance a Scottish jig around swords, accompanied by bagpipes.

  • FOOTBALL SENIORS: (from left) Nathan Lockhart ’19, Adam Hutchinson ’19, Joshua Youngblood ’19, Jakob Hines ’19 and Tim Boone ’19 announce their winning season and encourage all divisions to come to the Homecoming game. The Homecoming game theme was neon and the Bucs played against Sickles.

  • A FIGHT FOR THE STICK: The Lower Division cheers as the judges for the Spirit Stick enter. Judges included members of the custodial and security staffs.

  • BLUE NOTE: Freshmen members of the Berkeley Marching Buccaneers play the trumpet alongside mellophone player Talia Walsh ’19.

  • TIME TO SHINE: The Berkeley Marching Buccaneers start their time-themed performance by incorporating movements called “horn flashes.” Bethany Schneider ’19 leads the line on trombone.

  • ON THE CLOCK: Greg Willis ’22, Thalia Fraifer ’22, Mia Keller ’21 and Niko Simpson ’22 performed as a part of the Upper Division marching band. They performed their contest show, “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” which revolved around the theme of time. The set included pieces of the songs “Clocks” by Coldplay, “Time After Time” by Cyndi Lauper and “For Whom the Bell Tolls” by Metallica.

  • OVER TOO SOON: Students and faculty file out of the Doyle Gymnasium as the pep rally comes to an end.
