In the age of social media, celebrities are constantly scrutinized in almost every aspect of their lives.  The clothes they wear, their current relationship status, and now the names they choose for their children all make popular headlines as people are consumed with the desire to stay up to date with Hollywood’s biggest news.  Today, celebrity baby names range from typical, run-of-the-mill names to bizarre names that one would never think of associating with a child.  Here are the top five best and worst celebrity baby names.

5. Winnie – Jimmy Fallon and Nancy Juvonen        

With a name almost as adorable as her, Winnie Rose Fallon has the 5^th most popular baby name of 2013, according to Today Moms.  We’ll just have to wait and see how she feels about being named after a male teddy bear with the last name of “Pooh.”

4. Noah – Michael Bublé and Luisana Lopilato

Noah is a little frightened by the camera, but he’ll have to get used to fame pretty soon.  Not only is his dad a famous singer, but his mom is a well-known Argentine model/actress. “Noah” was one of the top celebrity baby names of 2013.

3. Prince George Alexander Louis – Prince William and Catherine, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

The regal-sounding name fits perfectly with the tiny future king.  It’s no surprise that the name “George” has increased in popularity since the prince’s birth.

2. Flynn – Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom

With the same name as the adventurous Flynn Rider from the movie Tangled, little Flynn Bloom appears to share the same love for excitement.  He’s already taken after his dad’s swashbuckling skills from his days as a pirate – there’s always a toy sword near this tiny toddler.

The gorgeous-sounding name is perfect for a baby girl: it sounds just the right amount of pretty, sophisticated, and fabulous.  Moms definitely agreed: they voted “Everly” as their favorite celebrity baby name of 2013, according to Yahoo!  Props to Channing and Jenna for choosing such a beautiful name for their daughter!

5. Blue Ivy – Beyoncé Knowles and Jay-Z Carter

Some celebrity baby names are just too unique for us normal folk.  Even Queen Bey, who can seemingly do no wrong, drew some criticism after naming her daughter after a plant.

4. Kal-El – Nicholas Cage and Alice Kim

Clark Kent would have been a better choice than Kal-El, Superman’s birth name.  Imagine how disappointed poor Kal-El Cage was when he was told he actually didn’t have superpowers.

3. Axl Jack – Fergie and Josh Duhamel

It’s a good thing Josh and Fergie planned their son’s future ahead of time to give him the perfect name for a car mechanic.

2. Prince Michael II/ “Blanket” – Michael Jackson

With a birth name like Prince Michael II, thank goodness Michael Jackson chose a nickname for his son that no one could find fault with.  Plus, we can all easily see how he derived “Blanket” from his son’s original name.

1. North West – Kim Kardashian and Kanye West

We all knew this one was coming.  The only direction the name “North” is heading is south: according to Yahoo!, North was the least favorite name among moms in 2013.  But it gets even better – baby North’s nickname “Nori” is the Japanese name for edible seaweed..
